Employment Services (Community Services & Development) We have an exciting opportunity to join our small but mighty Employment Preparation and Placement team.
The Employment Consultant will support our clients who are in receipt of a benefit into employment (funded through the Ministry of Social Development).
As an Employment Consultant, you will provide high-quality coaching and training within a person-centred and supportive learning environment.
You will be a person who consistently "goes the extra mile" to help our participants achieve, by providing transport, pastoral care and assistance through our close relationships with support agencies.
Success in this role will rely on your ability to relate to our community of clients, and be culturally sound, energetic and passionate about providing guidance, encouragement and practical support to assist our people to reach their employment goals.
What you will do: Prepare participants to enter the workforce, by providing pre-employment skills and training Guide and support participants to set goals and career plans, and assist with applying for employment opportunities Run workshops to support pre-employment preparation Foster relationships with industry contacts to establish networks for future employment placements Manage a case load of participants and the administration around the registration and placement process Place clients into meaningful and sustainable employment What you'll bring to the role: Experience in recruitment or employment services, with an ability to register, interview and support participants through the pre-employment process An ability to develop and maintain relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, internal and external to Skills Update Understanding of industry stakeholders that provide employment to our participants Experience managing the processes and administration that underpin the support Skills Update provides Exceptional organisational skills and agility to adapt to the needs of our participants An ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with your peers What you'll be valued for: Your agility and ability to flex to the ever-changing needs of the role.
