What will you do? Help people to get a job. At WALSH Trust we know that people can recover from life's challenges, and that appropriate employment is often a key factor in a person's recovery journey that can make a dramatic difference to their lives. About the Job You will be working within our experienced team of employment consultants and closely with our clients and potential employers to ensure that our jobseekers find meaningful paid work. You will be supporting individuals through any challenges that they may face on their journey towards finding and maintaining employment. You will be creating CV's and Cover Letters as well as giving advice on job search methods, training, and interview techniques. You will also guide individuals on networking and how to present themselves well to employers. And you will be conducting one-on-one meetings and planning sessions that help people to tailor their job search. Once they have obtained employment, you will support them so that they keep and grow in their new role. The ability to effectively communicate and build rapport with jobseekers and employers. Great listening skills. Effective writing skills. Analytical and critical thinking skills that will allow you to understand a person's skills and the ability to read and understand job descriptions, adverts, and employment contracts. Experience and/or willingness to learn how to work with job seekers experiencing complex barriers to employment or mental health challenges. Intermediate skills in the use of the Microsoft Office computing package. Proficiency in negotiating difficult situations and conflict resolution skills. A NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4 (or equivalent), or a commitment to work towards this qualification. Essential requirements Eligible to work in New Zealand. Current full, clean NZ drivers licence. Criminal history check. We can offer you a career in our employment services where you can contribute positively to employment outcomes for people. This role is offered on a full-time capacity, working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday. The hourly rate for the position is between $23.38 and $29.10 per hour. Applicants for this position should have an entitlement to work in New Zealand. WALSH Trust conducts Police vetting checks for all successful candidates. Under the requirements of the Vulnerable Children's Act 2014, new candidates that are identified as coming under this act are required to undergo further safety checks as part of the recruitment process.
