(Category C – Shift rosters)Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora – MidCentral District's Emergency Department is an Australasian Level 4 regional trauma centre with approximately 55,000 presentations per annum. It is a mixed ED and is Tier 2 accredited for 24 months of training under the revised Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM) training programme. Our ED sees a large volume of trauma and high acuity paediatric and adult medical patient presentations. You can expect regular exposure to numerous critical procedures and a vast range of complex pathology. We have access to excellent accredited non-ED rotations such as Anaesthesia, Paediatric Medicine, General Medicine and Cardiology. We are a close-knit team of FACEMs who are committed to the career development of our registrars and to providing a supportive training environment.The city is diverse, lively, affordable and a great place to live. It is renowned for its mountain bike park, river walks, large number of restaurants and cafes, plus easy access to surf beaches and the Ruahine and Tararua mountains.
