We are seeking a dynamic Retail Manager 2IC to join our team and help us create a vibrant and welcoming shopping environment while supporting our dedicated team.As the Retail Manager 2IC for the Ellerslie Hub, you will play a key role in assisting the Hub Manager with day-to-day operations and will be there when they are not. This role has a particular interest in contributing to a visually engaging store and ensuring an exceptional customer experience. Your flair for merchandising, strong people skills, and commitment to our cause will be essential in driving the success of our store.You may have a background in retail merchandising, home staging, visual, interior or textile design. Maybe you've just finished training and stepping into a new career path or have been a jack of all trades in merchandising and styling – we'd love to chat.Nga Awhina moku / Benefits you will enjoy:Working with a wide range of unique and interesting inventory itemsGaining expertise in product knowledge and pricing evaluationBuilding connection with regular customers and the communityBeing part of the dedicated, experienced and fun team at Ellerslie, and the larger Mercy Hospice Whanau.Working with our wonderful Mercy Hospice retail volunteers.Nga kawenga matua o te mahi / Key responsibilities of the role:Support Store Management: Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations, including volunteer management, donation sorting and pricing and customer service.Shop Merchandising: Contribute to designing and implementing attractive and effective merchandise displays that enhance the shopping experience and maximize sales.Customer Engagement: Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers, addressing their needs, and resolving any issues in a friendly and professional manner.Team Collaboration: Work closely with the team, including volunteers and staff, to ensure smooth operations and a positive working environment.Operational Assistance: Help manage cash handling, store organization, and adherence to health and safety guidelines.Community Relations: Foster positive relationships with local businesses and community members to promote the store and support our charity's mission.Nga pukenga e hiahiatia / Skills you'll bring to the role:Previous experience in retail or similar, with a demonstrated flair for merchandising and creating inviting store environments.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers, staff, and volunteers.Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and basic office software.A passion for Mercy Hospice's mission and a desire to make a positive impact.Flexibility to work a weekend day.To apply for this role, please submit your CV and a Cover letter via our advert on Seek.Your story could be part of oursMercy Hospice is an industry leader and has been delivering specialist palliative care for over 40 years.
