The role of Electrical Fitter is to provide safe, reliable and cost effective construction, erection, wiring, installation, repair, assembly, maintenance and modification of all classes of electrical apparatus used in the generation and distribution of electricity where specialised knowledge is required.
Undertake construction work by assembly, erection, wiring and installation of distribution equipment.
Carry out maintenance work by servicing and repairing distribution equipment and testing of distribution equipment.
Undertake Zone Substation construction and maintenance work by commissioning and testing of substation equipment.
Installation of temporary generation equipment.
Ensure the operation of the Ripple Generation Equipment.
Maintain the Recloser and Sectionaliser equipment.
Maintain and repair Zone Substation equipment.
Assist Unison Contractors with technical advice and assistance as necessary.
Undertake on-site Project Management involving other Unison staff and Contractors to Unison.
Provide input as appropriate to the Design, Planning and Construction of allocated tasks.
Complete documentation relevant to the performance of duties.
Supervise and support Apprentice Electricians, when required.
Cable Jointing is an advantage for this role.
The end result is to efficiently maintain the designated Network equipment in a safe and reliable working condition.
To be successful in this position you need:
EWRB registration as an Electrician, with a current Practising Licence.
A minimum of 5 years' experience as a qualified electrician, preferably in the electrical distribution industry or with an industrial electrical background.
