This position leads the site EHS support in the implementation and enablement of the Major Hazard Facilities assigned EHS tactical elements. This is achieved by providing guidance to the business and implementing the necessary actions required to deliver outcomes in hazard and risk management within the production and chemical industry. The role is responsible for ensuring EHS system executes elements allocated within the APAC EHS strategy plan, corporate EHS guidelines and drives continuous improvements through targeted programs and monitoring EHS performance. Key Accountabilities: Day to day management and execution of EHS elements at the Auckland Major Hazard Facility.Provide support and enable operations to consistently implement, adhere to and comply with the site's EHS management systems to ensure legislative requirements are fulfilled.Assist with the effective integration relationship and support between EHS and the business needs and objectives.Coordinate EHS aspects of facility projects, including writing and auditing work safe permits, contractor management, site inductions and the management of the MOC process.Ensure prevention of work-related injury or illness through the provision of an effective behavioral-based safety process and hazard identification systems.Act as the local EHS subject matter expert for application of Health & Safety at Work Act 2015, Hazardous Substances Act 2017 & Major Hazard Facility Regulations 2016.Revise EHS management plans, manuals and associated procedures when needed.Champion the local EHS Management system for accurate data recording and reporting of corrective and preventative actions (CAPA), non-conformances, incidents and events.Maintain event control of all EHS incidents/observations including ensuring investigations are completed and closed out as per Incident management directive via ICAM or root cause analysis methodology and inputted into Intelex.Escalate categorized incidents to Head of EHS APAC and corporate EHS division to enable operational management escalation in accordance with corporate EHS management directive.Ensure that Arxada has Emergency Response capability through maintaining currency and testing of Emergency Response Plans and support operation group maintain currency/testing of site level ERP. Requirements: Ability to lead complex risk/process hazard assessments.Knowledge or experience of Major Hazard Facility is strongly desirable but not essential.Demonstrated skills in development, implementation, and ongoing management of EHS systems.Communicate clearly, concisely, and persuasively both verbally and in writing.The ability to adjust and change communication styles depending on the audience.Ability to develop and deliver training programs to address EHS needs.Must be able to build and maintain strong internal relationships with the staff at the Auckland production site to be able to influence EHS requirements.Must be able to be flexible and easily adapt to the ever-changing demands of the production site.
