The EH&S Lead ensures a high standard of Safety across the divisions, overall operations, and products to safeguard our employees, assets, and customers. This role will implement and ensure compliance with company policies, specifically pertaining to safety, like: ISO 45001, IMS/ISO 9001, HACCP, Workcover, and other relevant legislative and accreditation requirements. Vital to this will be to carry out continuous improvement activities, and providing direction, support, and training to employees.
Job DescriptionEHS/Training systems:
Maintain SAIRS Safety database for incident reportingLead with Injury, Incident, and First aid reports, Root Cause Investigation, and Corrective Actions. Site safety improvement plansSet standards for and set SOP's - ensure operational procedures include all necessary safety precautions and that personnel are competent and comply with all procedures.Carry out Risk Assessments and communicate corrective actionsConduct Safety Observations and housekeeping InspectionsLead Safety Meetings – Management and Site Safety CommitteeCoordinate Corporate and Regional EHS InitiativesManage and execute RTW plans and alternative dutiesConduct Safety inductions to employees, visitors, and contractorsEnsure Contractor safe systems of work and compliance with Sealed Air internal requirementsChampion company EHS policies, guidelines, and procedures to conform with ISO 45001.Provide guidance and direction in EHS programs at all levels to ensure a common and effective approachLead with site preparedness for emergenciesLead HSE programs and inspections by regulatory agenciesMaintain the MSDS registerMaintain the PPE registerProcure HSE goods and services as requiredCommunication and reporting:
Update Regional Safety and Environmental reporting in a timely mannerEnsure Monthly Management reporting of Safety performanceMaintain KPI's for management and shop floorTake minutes of safety meetings (e.g. Safety Management Meeting, Site Safety Committee)Prepare safety talks for shop floor, field staff, and office staffCoordinate, collate, and report on Safe Behaviour ObservationsReview incident information and identify trendsAudits and External Testing:
Lead all internal safety audits to meet ISO 45001 requirementsLead the 3 yearly global EH&S audit and outcomesParticipate in internal ISO 9001 Quality AuditsInternal and External Training:
Actively support training and development of key training initiativesSupport the implementation and coordination of the Skills Based Pay initiativeEnsure adequate levels of training are maintained for existing and new employees, including first aid, fire warden, emergency evacuation, forklift, and hygieneIdentify EH&S training needs and ensure accurate training records are maintainedEducation5 years' experience in a health and safety focused or similar roleEnvironmental Health and Safety or related qualificationStrong computer skills with a high standard of proficiency in MS OfficeSafety management experience would be an advantageTraining experience would be advantageousAuditing experienceCompensation DataSalary Range for position is 85k-110k. Position also incorporates an annual bonus which is determined based on company and individual performance.
