Te tIma | The team: The Parliamentary Library and Engagement Group | Te Pataka Rangahau, te Whakapapatanga supports Parliament through the provision of trusted library, information, research, and engagement services to members of Parliament, parliamentary staff, parliamentary agencies, and the public. The Research Services team delivers tailored, high-quality research to Parliament members, committees, staff, and the community. They manage customer service, handle research requests promptly, provide briefings and reports on topics of interest to Parliament, and promote the Library's services and products. Mo te tunga | About the role: We are looking for an Economic Adviser to provide high-quality economic and public finance research, analysis, and information to meet the needs of our customers. Key Responsibilities: Research and answer research requests, including in-depth and complex research requests, primarily related to economics and public finance. Work across a broad range of subject areas relevant to economics and public finance. Contribute to the development of library and research services. Support a culture of peer review and quality assurance. Contribute to a strong customer service ethos within the Library and Engagement Group. To kete | What you will bring to the role: The ideal candidate will demonstrate: Strong research skills that make it easy to break down complex issues and ability to communicate them clearly to different audiences. A solid grasp of New Zealand's public finance and the government budget process, with familiarity in key documents. Awareness of the New Zealand economy and key economic indicators, financial markets, and international trade. Proven ability to gather diverse information and deliver insightful qualitative and quantitative economic analysis. Exceptional problem-solving skills with a passion for customer service and a keen understanding of the political landscape. Strong numeracy skills and comfortable using Excel. Experience with Business Intelligence platforms such as PowerBI, Tableau, Data Studio. Nga ahuatanga kei a matou | What's in it for you? The starting salary range for this role is $81,107 - $89,549 per annum.
