Join the team at EcoFX (a division of Rentokil Initial) and be part of the largest nationwide rural pest control company, helping to protect New Zealand's natural beauty! EcoFX is a well-known pest control company operating in Otorohanga, North Waikato and Taumarunui regions, with our head office based in Otorohanga. We specialise in ground and aerial pest control, targeting possums, rats, mice, and mustelids. We are looking for an energetic, hard working individual who has a passion for conservation to join our team as the next Field Officer.
About the Role:
This is a special job that has you working outdoors in a small team, traversing through our beautiful landscapes whilst protecting our native environment and species. This will see you working on farmland, forests, and high-country terrain, setting up and servicing bait stations with the aim of reducing pest populations in these areas.
The job is based in the Waikato and King Country areas, and while most of the work is here, there will be an element of travel to other areas of the country as required. The hours are 6.30 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday with the occasional weekend work.
About You:
We operate in all weather, all year. You will need a high level of fitness, be able to work away from home at times and you will be a reliable team player. Health and Safety is at the forefront of everything we do, and you will need to demonstrate your ability to adhere to our policies around this.
In addition to this, you will also have the following:
A clean criminal record
A good understanding of the rural and farming community
A current driver's licence
A positive mindset
Please note that the applicant must have the right to live and work permanently or long-term in New Zealand. The successful applicant will be required to undertake a pre-employment Health Assessment (including a drug test) and complete a Ministry of Justice criminal records check, the results of which must be to Rentokil Initial's satisfaction.
While it is not essential that you have prior knowledge in this industry, it would be desirable. We will give you full training, equipment, supervision, and support to obtain the experience and credentials you need for this role.
If you are passionate about protecting our native habitat, you want to work for an organisation that values its team, and you love working in the outdoors, apply online today!
