Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua MidCentral (MidCentral) is part of Te Whatu Ora, Health New Zealand and provides healthcare services to over 180,000 people across the Manawatu, Horowhenua and Tararua regions. With a large hospital campus in Palmerston North, it also provides key health care and support services to neighbouring communities.
MidCentral operates an integrated model of clinical service delivery. Te Uru Ruahi (Mental Health & Addictions services) is responsible for the commissioning and delivery of MH&A services across the rohe. The new model of care Te Matapuna o te Ora focuses on an integrated treatment approach for those who would benefit from mental health and addiction services.
The Opportunity
This role will sit in the Manawatu Locality (Palmerston North and Feilding catchment area) but may also provide some services across the rohe. The eating disorder services will be delivered in line with national and international evidence-based best practice principles.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a level of knowledge with a focus on effective evidence-based interventions and skill in the assessment and management of mental health eating disorder presentations within a community setting. The role will also include being involved in an inter-disciplinary team approach across mental health & addiction. We are looking for a candidate who is highly motivated, committed to ensuring culturally responsive care, and dedicated to a strengths-based recovery approach that supports people and family/whanau to achieve their goals.
