Working alongside Community Corrections, Courts, Police, and Prisons, we help offenders to become legal drivers, moving them off the pathway to prison and into employment.
We currently have 23 Instructors around the country and have helped thousands of Kiwis get their licence back or even achieve it for the first time.

As part of the NZ Howard League Driving Programme whanau, you will become a fully qualified driving instructor and assist our clients to pass Learners, Restricted, and Full driving tests (and more).
We are looking for an energetic, good-natured, responsible individual to work as our Instructor in this extremely rewarding mahi in Kaitaia.
You must have: a Full licence for at least two years the ability to pass an assessment driving course (a mix of Restricted and Full test and theory tests Class 1 to 6) clean police record the ability to pass the NZTA medical certificate for an "I" endorsement the ability to work autonomously with excellent time management skills be self-motivated high level of integrity a kind heart, patience, and empathy sound judgement and a good work ethic the flexibility to travel outside of the area occasionally the ability to get on with people from various backgrounds The ideal applicant will have: experience in the driving/licencing/training industry an understanding of Tikanga Maori "I" endorsement licence is a plus but not necessary experience in adult education or training We will provide full training for the successful applicants, and a work vehicle is provided.
