We have been selected to establish a Services Academy at Ruawai College. Therefore we are seeking an enthusiastic service director for our Services Academy fixed term for 2025 (establishment year of MOE contract).
The role of Services Academy Director is well suited to a person with a background in the army, navy, air force, police, customs, or the Army Reserve Force. Although a background in these fields is not a prerequisite, it is highly beneficial. This position could also suit a registered Teacher.
The Services Academy is a Secondary Transitions programme that fosters skills and values that enable students to take a positive role in society both in their career or future study of their choice and in their community. The programme aims to help students stay engaged in learning and focus on gaining employability skills. It also provides a supportive environment for personal growth and development that helps students decide what their future pathway will be when they leave school. Ruawai College is aiming to provide excellent social outcomes and vocational pathways for young men and women.
As Services Academy Director, you will coordinate, deliver, and be responsible for developing and functioning the Services Academy courses for years 10 to 13. You will assist each student to reach their potential and be part of a team that works collectively to initiate and develop the academy.

Nuts and bolts: Start date: January 28, 2025A 'Limited Authority to Teach' registration will be submitted for the successful candidate.Conditions of employment are outlined in the Secondary Teachers Collective Agreement.
