Workplace Training & Assessment (Education & Training) Full time As NZ's leading provider of school and public transport services, Kinetic NZ has a great role available supporting our regional training objectives and requirements throughout Southland and Otago.
Key Responsibilities: Develop, deliver, and monitor driver training for schools, SESTA, urban and charter services at our 12 locations in Otago/Southland.
Conduct pre-employment assessment, driver induction and remedial driver assessments as required.
Provide full training and assessment for class 2 and 4 driver licensing to MITO and NZTA standards.
Conduct school & SESTA, LCPs and annual recurrency training to MITO and Ministry of Education standards.
Coordinate and plan one-off in-house training programs and projects.
Provide support to local managers and supervisors on how they can contribute to the training and development of their drivers.
Undergo training as required to improve own skills in learning and teaching.
Conduct training-related projects as agreed with local Area/Depot Managers and National Training Manager.
Qualifications and Experience: I Endorsement for class 2, 4 and P Endorsement plus relevant adult learning unit standards.
MITO qualified Registered Assessor for unit standards 17574, 17576 and 24089 as well as schools & SESTA NZQA unit standards.
Hold current class 2 & 4 driver's licence and preferably P Endorsement, with at least 5 years' experience in HV driving and/or training.
Other tertiary qualifications in Adult Education and Learning and knowledge of LMS would be an advantage.
Note: We may be prepared to help a suitable applicant obtain an I Endorsement and adult learning unit standards (subject to a two-year bonding agreement).
Preferred Skills: Strong written communication and articulate, outgoing and confident.
Computer skills in basic programs including PowerPoint.
Extensive experience as a professional heavy vehicle driver, with a clean driving record.
Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in driver training.
Certification as a driver trainer/assessor or equivalent qualification is highly desirable.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational skills.
Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry changes.
Demonstrate an inclusive, blended approach which integrates different learning modes, such as coaching, classroom instruction, online learning and action learning.
