About this opportunity As the Divisional Health and Safety Manager at Pact Packaging NZ, your role is integral to the development and execution of comprehensive health and safety strategies and programs within our division.

This position's key responsibilities and focus areas : Provide strategic guidance, governance and procedural leadership across Health, safety, environmental management. Facilitate the development and implementation of the PACT Health, Safety & Environment strategy for the Packaging NZ business. Continued development of business systems and strategies to prevent harm to people or place, demonstrating best practice, and being compliant with both internal policies and external legislative requirements. Close collaboration with divisional leadership, Business Unit Managers, and site safety teams to continue to grow a culture of health, safety and environmental excellence, providing expert and relevant advice, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement. Keep abreast of emerging industry trends that would enhance the Packaging NZ strategy in the future. What you will bring : Extensive experience in a Health, Safety and Environment leadership position. Strategic Leadership, with ability to influence and engage all levels across Health and Safety. Qualifications to a post graduate level in a health, safety, or environmental discipline or similar. 7+ Years in the assessment, execution and delivery of contemporary Health and Safety Management systems in a complex multisite environment. Demonstrated ability to apply principles of workplace injury prevention, excellent skills in hazard identification and industry accredited investigation skills (e.g. ICAM). Provide on-the-ground coaching and support across all levels of the organisation. Development and embed Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Strong organisational skills and ability to navigate organisational challenges. Highly developed skills in leadership, communication (written & verbal), negotiation, collaboration, influencing and execution. Coaching, training and mentoring skills. Outcome focused and detail oriented. Experience in the manufacturing operational industry. Values-led leader.
