Grada Recruitment are partnered with one of the Hawke's Bay's leading construction firms to assist with their next hire. They are now hiring for a Divisional Manager for their Building & Maintenance sector.This role is to take ownership of a successful division that provides reactive and planned maintenance, renovations/upgrades, and building works for a range of key clients across the Hawke's Bay. You will have 3 direct reports at Project Manager and Administrator level, likely increasing to 4 or 5 over the next few years.THE ROLEComplete management of the building and maintenance divisionManagement of direct reports, Project Managers and AdministratorsAssist with procurement and project management to ensure successful delivery of secured projectsIdentify and nurture talent in your division, provide training, coaching & mentorshipManage stakeholder relationships to develop new opportunities for business growthProfit and loss management – drive profit where possibleDevelop and implement strategic plans to drive growth of business unitFinancial management – Monitor and control project budgets, prepare financial reports and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budgetPROJECT DIVERSITYProjects / work ranging from $50K to $5M+ in valueSmall Works & Maintenance, Building Upgrades / Renovations & Insurance WorksHealthcare – Medical Facilities, Surgical Units, Imaging Centres & moreGovernment – Educational Institutions, Community Facilities & Public BuildingsCommercial – Offices, Wineries, Retail & Hospitality & Industrial UnitsResidential – Individual Homes, Large Residential Developments & Community HousingWHATS ON OFFER FOR YOU?Basic salary from $130K - $150KFully expensed company vehicle, business & personalPhone and laptop providedKiwiSaver contributionsProfessional & career development opportunitiesWHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?Prior experience in a similar position with a NZ based construction main contractorIdeally trade qualified as a Carpenter / Builder, or relevant related backgroundNew Zealand experience is a MUST for this role as we require strong knowledge of NZ building codes, regulations and industry standardsTechnical knowledge and understanding of NZ construction techniques / materialsProven track record managing teams and responsibility for a division's profit & lossStrong communication skills for internal and client managementProficient in NZ costing and project management softwareGood analytical and problem-solving skills
