Grada Recruitment are partnered with one of the Hawke's Bay's leading construction firms to assist with their next hire. They are now hiring for a Divisional Manager for their Building & Maintenance sector.
This role is to take ownership of a successful division that provides re-active and planned maintenance, renovations/upgrades and building works for a range of key clients across the Hawke's Bay. You will have 3 direct reports at Project Manager and Administrator level, likely increasing to 4 or 5 over the next few years.
THE ROLE Complete management of the building and maintenance division
Management of direct reports, Project Managers and Administrators
Assist with procurement and project management to ensure successful delivery of secured projects
Identify and nurture talent in your division, provide training, coaching & mentorship
Manage stakeholder relationships to develop new opportunities for business growth
Profit and loss management - drive profit where possible
Develop and implement strategic plans to drive growth of business unit
Financial management - Monitor and control project budgets, prepare financial reports and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
PROJECT DIVERSITY Projects / work ranging from $50K to $5M+ in value
Small Works & Maintenance, Building Upgrades / Renovations & Insurance Works
Healthcare - Medical Facilities, Surgical Units, Imaging Centres & more
Government - Educational Institutions, Community Facilities & Public Buildings
Commercial - Offices, Wineries, Retail & Hospitality & Industrial Units
Residential - Individual Homes, Large Residential Developments & Community Housing
WHAT'S ON OFFER FOR YOU? Basic salary from $130K - $150K

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? Prior experience in a similar position with a NZ based construction main contractor
Ideally trade qualified as a Carpenter / Builder, or relevant related background
New Zealand experience is a MUST for this role as we require strong knowledge of NZ building codes, regulations and industry standards
Technical knowledge and understanding of NZ construction techniques / materials
Proven track record managing teams and responsibility for a division's profit & loss
Strong communication skills for internal and client management
Proficient in NZ costing and project management software
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
