You will be leading a culture of purposeful engagement which promotes dignity and independence through the therapeutic recreation process. You can run individual and group recreational activities, having good communications skills and strong willingness to learnThis is a permanent, full-time role of at least 32 hours per weekWork will be scheduled from Friday to Tuesday during morning shifts.Located in Te Awa, Hawkes BayResponsibilities Include And Are Not Limited ToCreate a recreational programme for seniors living in a care supportive environment.Provide active support to residents to participate and engage in the social life of the Care Centre and the wider village by understanding the residents' interests and offering meaningful activities.Lead a culture of purposeful engagement which promotes dignity and independence through the therapeutic recreation process.Plan and implement a program of activities that empower residents to make choices, maintain control of their daily activities & enhance their wellbeing, ensuring all plans are aligned to Summerset policies.Effectively lead and participate in activities as needed, including involvement in residents' functions, driving residents on trips and assisting in the transportation of residents to special appointments.Applying the APIED process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, documentation) for individual or group recreational programmesMonitor, analyse and assess residents' abilities and engagement, reporting progress against their plans as per policy guidelines.Maintain monthly expenditure records for approval.QualificationsPlease click here to view the full job description.YouA minimum qualification of National Certificate in Diversional Therapy (Level 4) or equivalent. At least 3 years of relevant work experience may also be acceptable.Strong organisational skills, ability to multi-task and a positive "can-do" attitudeExcellent interpersonal skills, empathy and a genuine interest in working with older peopleCurrent first aid certificate or willingness to undertake a two-day courseFull & clean Drivers license & ability to drive a Mobility Van.Computer literacy with using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Additional InformationSummerset's known for its excellent benefits and strong sense of values around care, teamwork and drive for excellence.
