To be a Maori Court that provides a shelter for the people, their land, and their korero. We are a Court of record. Te Ture Whenua Maori Act 1993 (our Act) recognises the significance of whenua Maori as a taonga tuku iho of special significance to Maori.
Our role is to provide a Court service for owners of whenua Maori, their whanau and their hapu. We are striving to be a tikanga-based workplace and we look to live our tikanga values every day:

Te Haeata / The Opportunity
As a district administrator, you will provide direct support to management and frontline staff.
In the role, you will work closely with the district management team as well as the wider group of district administrators at Maori Land Court offices across the motu.
You will be responsible for providing administrative support relating to expenses, travel, and general account keeping which involves regular phone and email contact with a variety of providers.
You will provide a professional and courteous reception service in a fast-paced busy environment. You will be supported to grow your understanding of our processes, relevant legislation, regulations, and acts.
Your ability to build relationships will have a positive impact on the aspirations of Maori landowners for their whenua and their future generations.
O pukenga / Skills and Experience
The role of the Maori Land Court as a people's court is unique and if you believe you can bring value to the work of the court, we will support you through an intensive induction and training programme to help you succeed.
To be successful in the role you will have:
A genuine interest in people and experience in providing great customer service.
Great organisation skills and a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
Experience prioritising work and managing competing priorities.
Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience working in a high-paced environment where you are required to respond to changing needs and priorities to manage large workloads.
Excellent administrative skills with good attention to detail to produce quality work.
Experience in working with other agencies, service providers, and key stakeholders.
A good general knowledge of, and respect for, tikanga Maori and a commitment to further develop your knowledge of Te Reo Maori.
You will work within a well-established and vibrant team alongside technical experts, and you'll have attributes of being flexible, calm, and resilient.
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite, Excel, or similar financial management software.

Utu a-tau / Salary
The remuneration band for this role is $58,729 to 80,794 per annum. Your salary offer will be based on skills and experience you are able to bring to this role.
In addition, there is a Reo Maori allowance (from $1,000 up to $3,200). This is dependent on completion of an approved assessment with Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Maori Level Finder Examination.
