Career development is actively supported with ongoing training, career conversations, and opportunities to advance within the organisation.What you will do:In the role of Director of Software Engineering you will lead the development of Leapfrog, Seequent's market-leading 3D geologic modelling product, and Volsung, Seequent's advanced geothermal simulation software.Managing and providing leadership, you'll foster a continued environment of success and passion for the industry and product, guiding top quality development.Specific responsibilities will include:Strategic and technical leadership crafting and delivering cutting-edge desktop software products, and innovative cloud services.Leading quality assurance and automated testing efforts.Collaborating on product architecture and ensuring timely delivery.Championing the implementation, measurement, and continuous enhancement of dynamic, empowered teams.Managing 7 direct and 36 indirect reports, overseeing performance, delivery and quality of work from engineering teams.Collaborating and staying aligned with managers and peers across the globe around current and future product state.Skills and experience we are looking for:10+ years of experience as a Software Engineering Manager in a commercial setting, leading at least 20 people.Experience managing people leaders and technical teamsStrong leadership, problem-solving, and mentoring skills.Expertise in agile methodologies.Degree in Software Engineering or related field preferred.Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skillsAn inherent interest in science and technologyThe successful applicant must be based in Christchurch or willing to relocate to Christchurch. The role cannot be worked remotely and requires at least 3 days per week onsite in the office.
