My client is an established accounting practice located:
- 1.5h away from Dunedin
- 3.5h away from Queenstown
- 2h away from Tekapo
- 3h away from CHCH
They are seeking an experienced and visionary Director or Shareholder to join their leadership team. Known for delivering exceptional services across a broad client portfolio, this firm is deeply committed to fostering growth and providing tailored financial advice to its clients.
The Role
As a key member of the leadership team, the Director/Shareholder will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the firm, providing strategic direction, and cultivating client relationships. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who values community spirit and is eager to make a long-term commitment to the firm's continued success.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and inspire a team of skilled accountants, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented culture.
Provide high-quality advisory and accounting services to a diverse portfolio of clients.
Drive business growth and expand service offerings through strong client relationships and networking.
Develop and implement strategic initiatives to support the firm's long-term objectives.
Play an integral role in succession planning, business development, and community engagement.
About You
The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with significant experience (10+ years of NZ public practice experience) with a recent leadership position within public practice. They will possess strong technical skills, a deep understanding of local business needs, and a client-centric approach. As a prospective shareholder, you should be entrepreneurial, forward-thinking, and motivated to contribute to both the firm and the community.
Requirements
Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification or equivalent.
Minimum of 10 years experience in public accounting in NZ, with at least 4 years in a senior leadership role.
Proven track record of business development and client management.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
