Director of Training (Psychiatry FTE)Northern Region Psychiatry Training ProgrammeTe Whatu Ora WaitemataThe Director of Training position at the Northern Region Psychiatry Training Programme in New Zealand is a crucial role responsible for overseeing the training program and ensuring it meets the standards set by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists.This role, along with another Director of Training, works closely with the Psychiatry Vocational Training Committee to continuously develop and enhance the program. Responsibilities include collaborating with District-based Training Facilitators to enhance the academic curriculum, facilitate psychotherapy training, and manage the overall operations of the program.Key qualities for this role include integrity, skills in advocacy, mentoring, leadership, and pastoral care. The ideal candidate should be able to effectively balance training requirements with service delivery needs and be able to be accountable to various stakeholders.The successful candidate must have a deep understanding of the College Accreditation Standards for both the Training Programme and individual Training Posts. Additionally, being a registered medical practitioner with an Annual Practising Certificate and a Fellow of the RANZCP is essential.
