At GBHS, our school values drive our sports programme and we want opportunities for all students to participate in sports, whether they are highly competitive or more socially oriented.The ideal candidate will possess:A passion for sports and promoting student engagementStrong communication skills, with the ability to convey a strong visionProven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with diverse stakeholdersA talent for motivating and inspiring young people to participate and excel in sportsDemonstrated organizational skills, with experience in resource management and administrationPrevious experience in coaching, organizing, or developing sports programmes for adolescents (preferred)A current and full New Zealand Drivers LicenceRelevant tertiary qualificationThis role is responsible for planning and directing the strategic and operational aspects of the sports programme to encourage participation and drive high achievement. It involves effectively managing budgets and resources, as well as leading and inspiring Sports Coordinators and volunteers. The role also requires collaboration with a variety of sports organizations and the establishment of strong relationships with local businesses and community groups.An appropriate remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful applicant within the Support Staff in Schools Collective Agreement Grade 6 with a salary range between $95,410 and $101,630 per annum, inclusive of 4 weeks of annual leave.This permanent position commences early 2025. You must be eligible to work in New Zealand to apply for this position.This role is classified under the Children's Act (2014) and as such the appointment will be subject to a satisfactory police vetting check.
