Gorilla Technology is seeking a high energy, commercial and strategic Operations Director to oversee and enhance the core operational functions of our expanding technology services business. This pivotal leadership role encompasses Human Resources, Finance, Systems and Processes, alongside broader internal operations. While this is not a client-facing position, it demands the versatility to handle a wide range of challenges with competence and agility. We're seeking a seasoned business leader who thrives in a growth-focused environment and is eager for a fresh challenge.Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and the Chief Strategy & Growth Officer, you will collaborate closely with our existing leadership team. Your role will start managing two direct reports: the Office & Finance Manager and a part-time Finance Administrator with the likelihood that this team will grow as the business grows.Responsibilities:Human Resources: Lead the HR function within Gorilla, including recruitment, onboarding, policy development, performance management and culture building. Collaborate with the leadership team to execute and enhance all aspects of HR.Finance: Oversee and improve day-to-day financial operations, leveraging the existing team and external accountants and our on-demand CFO. A commercial mindset and proficiency in financial systems are essential; CFO experience or CA qualifications are not required.Systems: Take charge of our internal back-office IT systems, including both off-the-shelf software and bespoke internally developed solutions. Drive improvements in reporting, automation, and overall system efficiency. Work with our Project and Product Manager and Software Development team as needed to drive improvements.Process: Take a leading role in the development, configuration, and automation of processes. Ensure processes are efficient, simple and aligned with business activities. Understand requirements and embrace continuous improvement.Internal Operations: Manage a variety of operational activities, including insurance, office leases, fitout, company policies, and office management. Support and enable the broader business operations.Requirements:A minimum of 7+ years of experience in some combination of Finance, HR or Operations based roles, with strong experience in New Zealand businesses.Preferably experience in small and medium businesses, and preferably experience in IT or Technology centric business. Ideally experience in a client services business setting.Proven experience in leading and developing HR functions and teams. Demonstrated ability to motivate, guide, and mentor staff within a technical environment to achieve high performance.A relevant tertiary or university degree (Business, HR, Finance etc) preferred.Exceptional business level spoken and written English.Demonstratable confidence and experience with technology.This is a full-time role based in our Auckland CBD office.A full driver's licence and willingness to travel with costs reimbursed.About Gorilla:With over 20 years of operations, we have built a team of optimistic technologists who have become one of the foremost providers of proactive and strategic IT services to small-medium organisations in New Zealand.
