Director Investment Management, Planning & DeliveryLead strategic investment management and delivery for future-proofing NZ Police.This is a unique opportunity to lead and implement robust investment management and delivery practices that will enhance decision-making across the NZ Police investment system, allowing the organisation to be a benchmark for financial performance.Positioned within the Strategy & Performance Group and reporting directly to the Executive Director of Strategy & Transformation, this role will drive transformative strategic leadership, shaping and influencing high-impact decisions across NZ Police. Partnering with the Executive Leadership team, the Director will be instrumental in steering commercial insights and guiding strategic investment management at the core, pioneering an integrated planning framework across business and investment initiatives, operationalising strategy, ensuring that all investment choices advance NZ Police's mission and strategic objectives.This high-impact leadership role will also have the oversight and management of the transformation, delivery, and change portfolio, driving momentum across programs and projects within the investment portfolio. It will lead with purpose, ensuring every initiative is strategically aligned, optimised for value, and relentlessly focused on delivering transformative outcomes.Key Responsibilities:Lead the engagement with senior management, policy function, Directors, Justice Sector, and Treasury officials in coordinating and supporting the development of Police's investment intentions and the external Budget bid processes.Actively contribute to the Strategy and Transformation leadership team including supporting the development and improvement of a high performing team and drive a continuous improvement mindset within the team.Provide strategic leadership in the maintenance of our centre of excellence for programme and project delivery in order to grow NZ Police change delivery and benefits realisation capability.About You:To be successful in this role you will be a proven senior leader with extensive experience leading proactively and positively through times of change. You will have excellent stakeholder engagement skills, and you will have credibility at the Executive and inter-agency level. You will thrive in engaging a diverse network of stakeholders around a vision and setting strategic direction, while influencing the delivery of shared outcomes.You will be a collaborative, people-focused leader who brings a sharp focus to financial sustainability and continuous improvement. As an accomplished professional, you will bring experience of being a leader of cross-functional, high-performing teams.Qualifications:Experience leading finance and analytics of a large and/or complex organisation.In depth experience in investment planning and scenario modelling.Understanding of investment business case processes and critical evaluation and reporting to gain insight into an organisation's past and present performance and inform future operations.Sound understanding of the statutory framework and the political, social and economic settings in which the organisation operates, including the machinery of government and policy making process.Understanding of project delivery excellence, and strategic oversight of transformation initiatives.Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality presentations and effective communications to a range of stakeholders, including representing an organisation in a range of settings.How to Apply:To submit your application, please 'Apply now'.
