Established in 1966, SOSHI Educational Group has educational and research institutes and offices in Japan, New Zealand, USA, and Vietnam.We are seeking an experienced, high-performing, internationally focused business executive for the following position:Position: Director – GeneralLocation: IPU New Zealand, 57 Aokautere Drive, Palmerston North and other locations as appointed by the Employer.Hours of work: Thirty-five (35) hours per weekRemuneration: NZ$110,000 to NZ$120,000 per annum (including accommodation allowance and vehicle allowance)Key tasks include:Develop and implement the strategic plan and annual business plan of the Institute by providing advice to the Board of Trustees in cooperation with Senior Management Board members, and communicate the BOT's directives to the staff in New Zealand. Oversee implementation of goals and targets as set by the BOT.Manage the operational activities of the Institute in areas such as Academic Registry and Admissions, Administration, Facilities Management (including IT, Dining Hall, Gardening, Maintenance, and Health & Safety), Finance, Human Resources, Library, Student Support (including Academic Learning Support, Career Support, Recreation, and Residential Services), Public Relations, and Marketing/Student Recruitment.Liaise with external organisations to ensure the vision and mission of the Institute is well understood and that the organisation complies with relevant regulations.Qualifications and Attributes:Proven record of leadership and successful management at a top management level, particularly in international and multi-cultural environments.Successful experience in marketing strategy development and implementation in an international business setting.Ability to work comfortably in a multicultural environment with staff, clients, and other stakeholders, including Board of Trustees members residing in Japan. Japanese language proficiency is an advantage.A relevant postgraduate tertiary qualification. Education in international environments would be beneficial given IPU New Zealand's focus on international education.Commitment to a client-centred approach to service delivery.Strong communication skills, both oral and written.Ability to make decisions based on analysis of situations and appropriate interpretation of regulations.Strength to see and achieve objectives while making effective use of resources.We will review your application immediately and contact you for an interview if you are shortlisted.
