Korero mo te turanga - About the role Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Manutaki, Te Ngapara | Director, Centre for Restorative Practice to support the Diana Unwin Chair in Restorative Justice which is located within Te Ngapara - Centre for Restorative Practice attached to Te Kura Kawanatanga - School of Government and Orauariki - Wellington School of Business and Government.
This is a fixed-term, full-time role finishing at the end of 2028.
In this role you will be responsible for supporting the Diana Unwin Chair in Restorative Justice and leading the Te Ngapara - Centre for Restorative Practice by: Sourcing funding.
Managing resources.
Overseeing the commissioning, management and conduct of projects on matters of restorative justice.
Helping develop business opportunities both domestically and internationally.
Building the reputation of the Centre working with a restorative justice lens to tackle complex, social issues in contemporary Aotearoa.
O pumanawa - About you You will have: A track record as a restorative practitioner including the affiliated fields of dispute resolution, conflict resolution and mediation; OR a track record in policy, engagement or practice.
An excellent knowledge of the New Zealand public sector.
Ability to source external funding through grant applications and developing contacts with possible funding sources.
Successful leadership experience including a proven ability to provide strong strategic leadership with an innovative mindset, and experience at inspiring and leading teams around a shared vision.
Demonstrated Maori cultural awareness and can relate to Maori students, staff, communities (with established networks) and an in depth understanding of Maori cultural frameworks.
