We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director or Shareholder to join our dynamic team. As a fellow Director, you will play a crucial role in shaping and executing the financial strategy of the firm, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and driving excellence in financial reporting.The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in accounting and professional accounting qualifications (CA or CPA). They should also have proven experience in a senior financial leadership role, preferably within a professional services firm, and strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and industry best practices.The selected individual will be responsible for:Financial Strategy and Planning: Developing and implementing financial strategies aligned with the company's objectives, providing insightful financial recommendations to support decision-making at the executive level, and conducting regular financial analysis to identify areas for improvement and growth.Financial Reporting and Compliance: Overseeing the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial reports, ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting standards, regulations, and tax laws, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.Team Leadership and Development: Leading and mentoring a high-performing finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development, and driving collaboration and effective communication within the finance department and across the organization.Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating financial risks to safeguard the company's financial health and implementing robust internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information.Client Engagement: Collaborating with clients to understand their financial needs and provide strategic financial advice, building and maintaining strong client relationships to enhance the firm's reputation and client satisfaction.The successful candidate can expect:A competitive salary commensurate with experience ranging from $120,000 to $180,000 per annum, based on the location of Timaru and the industry standard.Professional development opportunities and financial support for continuing education.A flexible work schedule and options for remote work.Generous vacation and paid time off policies.Company-sponsored social events and team-building activities.Join a dynamic team as an experienced Director or Shareholder, shaping and executing the financial strategy of a leading firm in Timaru.
