My Timaru client is seeking an experienced and strategic Director or Shareholder to join their dynamic team.
As a fellow Director, you will play a crucial role in shaping and executing the financial strategy of the firm, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and driving excellence in financial reporting.
Responsibilities: Financial Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's objectives.
Provide insightful financial recommendations to support decision-making at the executive level.
Conduct regular financial analysis to identify areas for improvement and growth.
Financial Reporting and Compliance: Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial reports.
Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, regulations, and tax laws.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor a high-performing finance and accounting team.
Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
Drive collaboration and effective communication within the finance department and across the organization.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks to safeguard the company's financial health.
Implement robust internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information.
Client Engagement: Collaborate with clients to understand their financial needs and provide strategic financial advice.
Build and maintain strong client relationships to enhance the firm's reputation and client satisfaction.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in accounting Professional accounting qualifications (CA or CPA) Proven experience in a senior financial leadership role, preferably within a professional services firm.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and industry best practices.
Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
