He angitutanga | About the role Do you love telling stories through video?
Do you want to inspire and inform people about DOC's work, our native wildlife and unique environment?
We're looking for an experienced videographer with proven ability creating high-quality, end-to-end video content for our social, web and other digital channels.
We're looking for a motivated and skilled person with proven production management and videography skills.
Your work will be of a high quality, and you will need to be comfortable filming as sole videographer in remote locations, with the relevant fitness for multi-day shoots.
You'll contribute to the strategic vision of the Unit and create content that showcases the projects you're working on to a high standard.
We'll need you to be capable of wrangling talent as required, and working collaboratively among the wider team.
Reporting to the Content Team Lead, you will: * Film and edit video content for DOC's digital channels, working in a variety of roles from pre-production through to post * Manage all stages of the video process including workflow and feedback * Collaborate and consult with various stakeholders, building and strengthening relationships at place and representing your team to a high standard * Plan and execute shoots both as a team member and sole videographer * Your video mahi will elevate and safeguard the integrity of the DOC brand.

You'll juggle multiple stakeholders and lead workflow processes that are smooth and allow for relevant input and expertise.
A collaborative, personable, and solutions-focused approach will enable you to be successful in this role, as well as an ability to work-at-pace.
If you have some of the following skills, we are keen to hear from you: * At least four years' experience filming video content for a range of digital channels and platforms * High level of aptitude for capturing visual and sound in a way that delivers on strategic goals * Experience working with varied organisations and clients * Knowledge across all stages of video production * Experience using a range of audio and video equipment, and editing in the Adobe Suite * High familiarity with specialty videography equipment including various cameras, lenses, and ability to film with a drone would be an advantage * Advanced knowledge of digital video best practices and accessibility standards * Outdoor and hiking competency * Safety-first approach to work, with an ability to evaluate risk and adjust an approach * The ability to establishing and foster trusted relationships with your team, the wider team and unit, and both internal and external stakeholders * Work well within a team and be a supportive and collaborative colleague * Current full driving license As an honourable Treaty partner, an understanding of matauranga Maori and te ao Maori is important.

Our purpose is to build trust and confidence in DOC and engage New Zealanders in nature through our brand, campaigns, content, channels, and partners.
We are part of the Strategic Communications and Engagement Directorate.
We're responsible for leading DOC's strategic communications and engagement, internally and externally, through providing strategic and tactical media, communications support, and services across DOC – working closely with Minister's office.

The salary range for this position is $79,656 to $100,639 with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.
Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory – this includes holding a valid work visa that covers the whole period of employment.
