About the role The Digital Content Adviser, Social Media is an integral member of the Ministry's Communications Division.
Savvy, talented and knowledgeable on all things Social Media, you are someone who can remain calm in a fast-paced environment and prioritise tasks as needed.
You will work across the various business groups within Wellington and with our international post network to create content, publish and ensure quality and timeliness of all communications across our various social media channels.
More specifically, in this role you'll: manage our ministry social media accounts and help our global network to manage theirs advise and train staff in Wellington and around the world how to create great content, publish to our channels and to target audiences work with our wider communications team to deliver strategic campaigns and a variety of other projects promote the value of clear, concise content The full salary range for this role is $87,672 and $118,615 total remuneration, inclusive of our 3% KiwiSaver employer contribution.
Who are we looking for?
You're at your happiest when the numbers are up and the whole team is being thanked for it.
You'll have: 5+ years' communication, including at least 3 years in Social Media delivery and support.
experience in a range of communications environments, including government and private sector publishing experience on major social media platforms excellent writing skills and experience turning dry documents into snappy plain English content for social media skills to create video and infographics the ability to stay calm in a storm, impeccable people skills and creativity to burn.
Ideally you will also have a good understanding of tikanga (Maori customs and protocols), with the ability to weave te ao Maori (the Maori worldview) into your work.
If you are just starting on this journey that's OK too as long as you have a willingness to learn and a desire to develop your cultural capability.
