We enjoy spot lunches, and great Christmas get-togethers and encourage and offer opportunities to current employees to grow and develop their skills - sometimes even moving around the country to another yard!Key responsibilities:This position involves working to repair, maintain and inspect diesel engines but not limited to:Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems with diesel engines, including troubleshooting issues with fuel systems, exhaust systems, and transmissions.Conducting performance and diagnostic tests on diesel engines using specialized equipment to ensure they are functioning properly.Removing and replacing worn or damaged engine components, such as pistons, bearings, and fuel injectors.Keeping accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed on each diesel engine, as well as any parts replaced.Adhering to safety regulations and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment and proper use of protective equipment.Communicating effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure that repairs are completed on time and to specification.Any other tasks at the employer's discretion.Skills, Knowledge and Experience:Three(3) years work experience as a Diesel Mechanic or relevant occupation, or a relevant qualification of NZ level 4P roficiency in identifying performance issues.Ability to perform repairs and replacements as required efficently .Perform regular maintenance and inspections.Keep accurate records of repairs and parts to prevent breakdowns.Keeping costs of the repairs within the maintenance budgetPhysically fitMust be able to pass a drug test and criminal checkLocation: The Diesel Mechanic may be required to work across Canterbury, Waikato, Auckland, Southland, Whangarei,Otago,Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington, Marlborough, Hawke's BayThis role will be a permanent and full-time job.A minimum of 30 hours of work are guaranteed.Minimum and maximum hourly rate: $29.66-$35Please note that our commitment to our team's safety on the job means that everyone undergoes a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen.If you are a reliable and experienced Diesel Mechanic, APPLY NOW with your current CV.#J-18808-Ljbffr
