Diesel Mechanic

Title: Diesel Mechanic
Location: Auckland
Job Type: Permanent Fulltime, Minimum of 30 hours per week
Pay Rate bracket: $29.70 an hour and Employer is willing to go to $32.00 per hour based on experience.
Responsibilities:

Diagnose, repair, and perform maintenance on diesel engines and vehicles, includingtrucks, buses, and heavy equipment.
Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, andlubricating equipment and machinery.
Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other importantparts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition.
Troubleshoot and repair fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, brakes, andhydraulic systems.
Use diagnostic tools and computer software to identify mechanical issues andprovide accurate repairs.
Maintain records of repairs and maintenance services performed, including parts andmaterials used.
Follow safety procedures and guidelines while performing maintenance and repairwork.
Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding repair and maintenance.

Preferred Requirements:

Excellent customer service skills
Relevant Experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role of 3 years / and or level 5 qualification or higher preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong knowledge of diesel engines and mechanical systems preferred.
Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy equipment and work in various positions.
Commitment to safety practices and procedures
Ability to work weekends when necessary.
