Aged & Disability Support (Community Services & Development)Full timeOur vision: empowering the autistic and autism communitiesOur purpose: 'Every Step Together' - providing services and support, education and information on autism, to allow autistic people and their family/whanau/caregiver, professionals and other stakeholders, to make informed choices.ROLE PURPOSEThe Diagnosis and Early Support Manager is positioned to manage the day-to-day diagnosis and early support services of Autism New Zealand and grow these services to meet community needs.This role will also support the Service Delivery Manager and Senior Leadership Team to:Seek and develop new funding opportunities and contracts for Autism New Zealand.Oversee and develop processes and procedures in relation to the diagnosis and early support services.Provide guidance, training and support to ensure quality service delivery to the community.Provide the Service Delivery Manager and Senior Leadership Team with reporting.ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES1. Diagnosis and early support service deliverySupport the Service Delivery Manager to develop the operational plans for the diagnosis and early support services based on the strategic plan as approved with the Chief Executive and timeframes.In conjunction with the Service Delivery Manager, develop and maintain relationships with local government agencies and meet them regularly.Support the Service Delivery Manager to initiate new developments so that all staff provide an efficient and effective service that meets the autistic and autism community needs.2. Team managementManage the diagnosis and early support staff and interns effectively according to organisation policies and procedures.Work with the diagnosis and early support staff to identify needs in line with operational plans and budget priorities.Recruit and induct staff in conjunction with the Service Delivery Manager and Business Manager.Provide training opportunities for all staff based on identified staff and community need with the approval of the Service Delivery Manager and the Business Manager.Supervise and evaluate direct report staff.Ensure the provision of professional supervision of staff.Promptly report any significant issues to the Service Delivery Manager and Business Manager.3. Service managementEnsure that the diagnosis and early support services operate efficiently, effectively and by Autism New Zealand's principles of service.Ensure appropriate policies, processes and systems are in place and followed, developing and implementing where required in conjunction with the Senior Leadership Team.Prudently manage the services resources within budget.Ensure records are appropriately maintained.Maintain office equipment and property.Promptly report any significant issues to the Service Delivery Manager.Provide the Service Delivery Manager and Senior Leadership Team with monthly reports as required.PERSON SPECIFICATIONKnowledge, skills and experienceA knowledge of, and experience with autism and related conditionsA knowledge of, and experience in autism diagnosis and/or early supportExperience in the disability sector would be an advantageExperience in recruiting and managing staffAbility to manage numerous demands at the same timeHighly competent in use of Word, Excel, Outlook/Email, Database, website and social media, and other administration systems and processesCommitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
