Development Engineer

We have an opportunity for a Development Engineer to join our Building and Planning Team! The purpose of this role is to coordinate engineering and infrastructure matters relating to development planning, processes, information, and consent applications.Responsibilities:As the Development Engineer, you will work to ensure that compliance and information provided is in line with Council infrastructure standards. Your efforts will contribute to the wider strategic plan for the development of the district.You will be responsible for:Managing infrastructure mattersProviding tactical solutions and technical advice to contribute to the delivery of Council's objectivesEnsuring consents and bylawsMonitoring compliance with Council's code of practiceMaintaining processes by keeping them current and effectiveMonitoring and assessing infrastructure in emergent situationsBuilding and maintaining positive relationships internally and externallyIdeally you will have:Bachelor's degree in civil engineering (or equivalent/similar).Good understanding of development engineering processes and NZ infrastructure standards.Good understanding of the Resource Management Act and District Planning.Understanding and commitment to customer services.CAD, GIS, project management and modelling software skills.General computer competency to advanced level.For the position description and to apply online, please visit www.odc.govt.nz/jobs.Applications close Friday, 1st November 2024 at 4pm.
