Development Contributions Officer

Local Government, Government (Government & Defence) Full time We are looking for a team member to join our supportive planning team of professionals. This is an opportunity to help shape the future of our community. About the role This new role reports to the Planning Manager and is responsible for evaluating consent applications in conjunction with other Council staff (Planning, Building, and Engineering) for residential and non-residential developments. The role requires the building and maintaining of strong relationships with the development community to ensure issues are identified and addressed in a constructive manner. What you will bring: Sound knowledge of the RMA, Local Government Act and knowledge of related legislation. Minimum 2 year's experience in office management and administration. Attention to detail in particular with mathematical calculations and record keeping. Excellent communication skills - can explain information simply and build credibility with internal and external stakeholders. An intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office software. While a planning qualification is not essential, experience within the development or construction sector would be a distinct advantage.
