OJI Fibre Solutions is one of New Zealand's leading manufacturers and suppliers of packaging solutions to a wide range of industries throughout the country. Our customers include blue chip manufacturers and marketers of packaging products to the food, primary produce, industrial, and grocery sectors. Based at our Corrugated Case plant in Mangere Bridge, Auckland, you will be responsible for leading a team (of 7) that is tasked with creating innovative packaging solutions for our diverse customer base.
We are on the lookout for a Design Manager who is driven, creative, and has a customer-focused mindset. If you think outside the box and are passionate about improving the 'status quo', then this challenge might be for you. We are looking for you to bring something different to our Design team. Someone who can support our sales team with different ideas while looking for efficiencies within our pre-press processes.
Attributes we are seeking: Minimum 3+ years Supervisory/Management experience in design, pre-press, and printing (Flexographic and/or Lithographic) production environments ideal but not a prerequisite.Driven, innovative problem solver who is customer-focused and results-driven.Proactive drive for continuous improvement, i.e., questions the 'status quo'.Measure your success by your customer (external and internal) feedback.Proven ability to lead and build a highly successful team culture.Highly effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.Calm under pressure.Computer skills ideally: Esko or Macintosh applications, trade-shop, Computer Design System experience (i.e., Artios), Illustrator, and Photoshop.In this role you will be responsible for: Managing the Design team consisting of 7 direct reports, generating and reviewing daily work plans, coaching/development, and performance management of staff.Managing external and internal client relationships; this will involve some domestic travel to our various sites around NZ.Quoting and Invoice processing via SAP.Reaching KPI's: Sales Budgets and EBIT Targets, DIFOT for items under Graphics and Structural Banners, Quality of final Products, IT Projects and development of IT interfaces for external and internal customers.Maintaining a healthy and safe work environment.What we offer: Salary range $105,000pa - $130,000pa per annum depending on relevant experience.Excellent staff benefits including medical insurance, life and income protection insurance, and enhanced superannuation and on-site car parking.Monday to Friday 40 hours per week minimum.You experience in Print or Design sectors is not as important as your ability to provide and implement real-life solutions for improvements, meeting customer service turnaround times, and managing all day-to-day functions of the Design team.
