OJI Fibre Solutions is one of New Zealand's leading manufacturers and suppliers of packaging solutions to a wide range of industries throughout the country. Our customers include blue chip manufacturers and marketers of packaging products to the food, primary produce, industrial and grocery sectors.
We're on the lookout for a dynamic Design Manager, to lead our Design team. Naturally you're driven, pro-active and innovative with proven industry experience in Design, Prepress or Print media sectors.
Based at our Corrugated Case business plant in Mangere Bridge, Auckland you will be responsible for delivering a customer focused service solution to our Corrugated and Paper Bag business units around NZ and lifting the levels of innovation and customer focus within the Design team. The Design team is a key part of our production process providing innovative packaging design, art and structural solutions together with ensuring the best prepress outcomes for our internal and external stakeholders.
In this role you will be responsible for:
Managing the Design team consisting of 7 direct reports, generating and reviewing daily work plans, coaching/development and performance management of staff.Managing external and internal client relationships; this will involve some domestic travel to our various sites around NZ.Quoting and Invoice processing via SAP.Reaching KPI's: Sales Budgets and EBIT Targets, DIFOT for items under Graphics and Structural Banners, Quality of final Products, IT Projects and development of IT interfaces for external and internal customers.Maintaining a healthy and safe work environment.To be successful you will have the following attributes and skills:
Minimum 3+ years Supervisory/Management experience in design, pre-press and printing (Flexographic and/or Lithographic) production environments.A strong desire to provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers.Highly effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.Calm under pressure.Highly innovative and creative – pushing the design envelope and solving design dilemmas for our clients.Computer skills: Esko or Macintosh applications, trade-shop, Computer Design System experience (i.e. Artios), Illustrator and Photoshop.Relevant Tertiary Qualification in Packaging/Design.What we offer:
