All roles are permanent unless stated otherwise.Reporting to the Unit Manager of one of the teams below, as a Senior Design Analyst or Design Analyst, you'll be responsible for researching, designing, and implementing a range of innovative statistical, data and analytical solutions to support and inform all stages of the data and statistics lifecycle across Stats NZ.These roles would suit someone who can bring:Experience and interest in macroeconomic, population and housing, or social and environment data.A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (computer science, statistics, etc.) that has a significant data component or equivalent experience.Examples of technical leadership, e.g. in decision making, problem solving, or leading a technical project or piece of work.A passion for innovation and application of conceptual and creative thinking skills to trouble-shoot and to develop or improve statistical designs, systems and processes.Experience and strong capability performing data analysis using statistical applications (such as R, Python or SAS or equivalent).Great team-working skills, personal resilience and the confidence to create strong working relationships.Excellent written and verbal communication skills that can explain complex concepts in plain English.Demonstrated customer centricity.Any information about your knowledge and experience, or desire to learn and build knowledge and experience of Te Tiriti, Tikanga, Te Reo and Te Ao Maori, and engagement with Maori.Have demonstrated, encouraged or supported diversity and inclusion in or outside of work.How to apply | Me pehea te tuku tonoIf this sounds like you, click on the Apply now button to be redirected to the application page on our careers site.
