Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with the Treasurer to manage the growing debt funding programme, currently $3.2bn.Lead Transpower's Green Financing Framework and annual reporting.Engage with investors and oversee risk management for debt and foreign exchange.Serve as the Treasurer's delegate when required.Oversee cash and currency risk management.Lead the documentation of debt programmes and liaise with external legal advisors and banks.Contribute to treasury policy updates and strategic treasury projects.About the Team: Our Treasury team, guided by the Treasurer, manages interest rate, liquidity, credit, investment, funding, foreign exchange, and commodity risks within the parameters set by Transpower's Treasury policies. The team also oversees our insurance functions and nurtures both internal and external financial and insurance relationships.
About the Opportunity: We're excited to welcome a skilled Deputy Treasurer to our Corporate Services Team at Waikoukou Head Office in Wellington. You will play a vital role in managing capital market activities, overseeing debt and investment portfolios, and ensuring compliance with Transpower's Treasury policies, financial markets, and insurance regulations.
Your expertise will be essential in managing Transpower's Green Financing Framework while collaborating closely with stakeholders across the business and financial institutions. You'll connect with domestic and offshore investors, lead debt documentation efforts, and support the Treasurer in implementing treasury strategies.
About You: We're looking for someone with substantial financial market experience who thrives in a leadership role. Your experience in managing debt and investment portfolios, along with your understanding of treasury products, will empower you to deliver results in a dynamic environment.
You will bring:
A minimum of 10 years' experience in financial markets and senior positions.Excellent negotiation, written, and oral communication skills.Strong leadership qualities and the ability to nurture cross-business relationships.Proficiency in financial applications such as Bloomberg and GTreasury.Expertise in managing capital market instruments, risk management products, and financial strategies.Additional Skills: Additional skills that will enhance your application include:
