Deputy Principal/SENCO Our beloved, long term deputy principal is retiring, so we are looking for a new, vibrant and enthusiastic leader to join our team. We seek a strong professional with classroom and leadership experience, who excels in building relationships, setting high expectations and curriculum development.
The following attributes are essential:
The ability to work collaboratively in a collegial team
Be committed to professional learning and building capacity in others
Ability to lead change and support the Principal in relation to the school's strategic direction
Highly efficient communication, organisation skills, and to be a team player
Deep knowledge of teaching pedagogy and the NZ Curriculum , with extensive knowledge of assessment practices
To be an advocate for students in the area of pastoral care
The capabilities to maintain programmes and activities that reflect the special character of the school shall be a condition of appointment
Experience in a Catholic School is preferred, but not essential. In addition to the deputy principal role, the successful candidate will have SENCO responsibilities and classroom responsibilities (3-4 days a week, negotiable).
The start date would be from the beginning of 2025.
