About the role | Mo te tunga We are after an experienced Leader who will reflect our values, support a positive learning culture and who can build on the foundation of our organisation's strategy - Hokai Rangi.
As the Deputy General Manager Site Pathways, you will be an inclusive Leader and your role will be accountable for leading and managing the development and delivery of services related to rehabilitation, learning and employment services and opportunities for people in our care.
By leading an integrated and unified approach to service delivery across the range of services we provide, you will support the achievement of our goal of reducing re-offending and safer communities.
Appointment will be based on Scale C of the Frontline Managers Collective Agreement Step 1 $125,985 - Step 6 $146,297), appointment as per the Collective, is Step 1 with annual progression through to Step 6.
Consideration can be given for appointments at Step 2 or higher based on proven skills and experience relevant to the role.
By demonstrating visible leadership, you will have the courage, passion and determination to deliver outstanding results, raising the bar for quality practice with a deep understanding, appreciation for, and genuine interest in the issues the tane in our care face.
Your leadership style will be inclusive and collaborative, and you will be able to clearly demonstrate your passion for building community relationships that maximise rehabilitation and reintegration outcomes and to do this we need a forward-thinking leader who can bring our team on a journey while developing an inclusive organisational culture.
Along with the above we would like to hear from you if you are able to demonstrate the following: Proven experience in supporting management in a role requiring business planning, staff management and development, consultation, communication, and relationship management skills.
An understanding of the factors impacting rehabilitation coupled with an excellent working knowledge of key agencies, both governmental and non-governmental, in the social/justice sectors.
A commitment to working constructively towards our Hokai Rangi goals to lower the proportion of Maori in the Corrections system.
The ability to understand and respect different cultural perspectives, particularly in relation to te ao Maori.
Commitment to developing staff to improve performance, contribute to culture change and build management capability.
Ability to develop and maintain strong working relations with external agencies and stakeholder groups, taking account of their strategic goals, pressures and priorities.
Key to your success will be proven relationship management skills as the role requires significant community, agency, partnerships and stakeholder engagement.
Custodial knowledge and or experience for this role would be advantageous but is not a requirement.
