About the role as Deputy Chief Financial Officer, you will oversee the financial planning and performance monitoring for the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE). By collaborating cross-functionally, you will develop an enterprise-wide perspective on MBIE's financial landscape and performance. Additionally, you will provide strategic financial counsel to MBIE's senior leadership team as needed.
We seek an experienced senior leader with a proven track record of successfully leading large finance teams in the public sector. You will be known for driving innovative strategies, frameworks, and work programs that develop people, shape systems and processes, and adapt to the evolving needs of customers and government.
In this critical role, you will be a key contributor to the Senior Leadership team at MBIE. You must have a deep understanding of the principles and conventions governing New Zealand's state sector and whole-of-government operations. Your expertise will support MBIE's stewardship, medium-to-long-term sustainability, organizational health, capabilities, capacity, and positioning within the wider sector. Skills and Experience required you will need proven experience at a senior executive level in sizeable entities. Wide ranging practical knowledge of the process needed to lead develop a finance and performance function at senior leadership level.
You must be CA qualified with 5-10 years post CA experience in senior finance management and reporting to executive or ministerial level or equivalent. Be a strategic thinker and make connections between various aspects of the organisation and implications for their business unit. Must have legal right to live and work in NZ. Consent to and satisfactorily complete a credit check as the role holds financial delegations.
