We are looking for a permanent full-time, Democracy Advisor to join our friendly Democracy Services team.
Democracy Advisors facilitate the management of Council and committee meetings, and support chairpersons to ensure core democratic services are delivered. You will facilitate effective relationships between the organisation and elected members and ensure robust and transparent decision-making; ability to maintain the confidence of elected members, your colleagues, and the public, and sensitivity of information is a must! This requires you to operate professionally, as an apolitical council officer, in a political environment.
Alongside this work, the focus of this role will be to help with some awesome, big projects including helping to set up our new ethnic communities advisory group and involvement in next year's local election.
To be successful in this role you will need to:
Be highly organised with exceptional time management.Be someone who thrives in a busy environment and who enjoys working autonomously.Have excellent relationship management skills. Experience working with senior level stakeholders would be beneficial.The work the team does can be fast-paced, but the team has a great culture. They make sure they have fun and make the most of the social opportunities that Council provides.
We are looking to appoint between $79,356 - $93,359 per annum for this role, depending on relevant skills and experience.
