Role OverviewThe role of the Delivery Lead is to lead agile squads or digital projects using appropriate delivery frameworks. Comfortable with formal project management and scrum agile methodologies, the Delivery Lead will bring structure, leadership, prudent financial management, and timely and accurate reporting to enable effective management of their assigned squads or projects.
Key ResponsibilitiesTakes full responsibility for the delivery and successful completion of assigned projects.Ensures that effective project control, change control, risk management, and quality management processes are maintained.Carries out risk assessments across their area of delivery, developing mitigations and escalating appropriately.Reviews statements of work alongside key stakeholders, ensuring the SOW offers value for money for Watercare, managing SOWs to successful completion.Produces timely, effective reporting, including agile metrics for their squads ensuring stakeholders are able to understand and monitor differing reporting approaches.Makes decisions and solves problems based on facts and evidence, seeking input from experts and ensuring decisions are taken by the right person at the right level at the right time.Articulates a vision to the team for the outcome of assigned work, including providing clarity on what is not in scope.Maintains vision and clarity of priorities to teams using a clear communication style.Ensures assigned project budgets contain all relevant line items, phasing, forecasting, and management of actuals is accurate and timely.Manages vendor contracts ensuring deliverables and milestones are met and vendors understand expectations.Monitors and controls resources, opex, and capital costs against the project budget and manages expectations of all project stakeholders in relation to costs of work.Understands and demonstrates accurate understanding of key project accounting concepts, including recoveries, capitalizable vs operational work.Focuses self and assigned teams on continuous process improvement and new ways of working.Seeks constructive outcomes in discussions, challenging traditional assumptions whilst remaining willing to compromise when it is beneficial to progress.Identifies and engages appropriately with all stakeholders.Ensures stakeholders are fully informed on progress of work.Seeks regular feedback from stakeholders to maintain engagement.Qualifications and SkillsExcellent leadership skills, communicating clear strategy and purpose.Comprehensive experience leading and facilitating large multi-disciplinary teams and in developing and motivating individuals.Proven experience using agile project management methods, whilst understanding the fundamental principles behind what they are trying to achieve and why they are valued.Experience in release management, demonstrating proactive engagement to deliver outcomes.Comfortable balancing multiple priorities and dealing with ambiguity, applying both pragmatism and bold direction when appropriate.Hands-on experience working within and collaborating in an agile environment.Hands-on experience leading effective release management throughout the life cycle of a product.Strong facilitation skills, presenting technical information to non-technical stakeholders.Sound understanding of the digital landscape, open source technologies, and modern practices around continuous deployment.Passion for driving teams towards high performance.Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently; strong organization skills; ability to plan forward and manage deadlines.BenefitsWe offer a competitive salary and staff benefits package including:
