We are looking for a talented Data Scientist to join our Data & AI (DAI) team at One New Zealand. In this role, you will develop and maintain predictive models, lead AI-driven experiments, and deliver Proof-of-Concept projects that drive intelligent decision-making and enhance customer experiences.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI solutions that align with our strategic objectives and help shape the future of AI at One New Zealand.
Ko to mahi – what you'll do Drive Intelligent Decision-Making: Develop and maintain predictive and optimization models to enhance business value and customer experience.
Lead Innovation: Conduct experiments and Proof-of-Concept (PoC) projects, incorporating cutting-edge AI technologies like generative/agentic AI, machine learning, and deep learning.
Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions into workflows and systems, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
Stay Ahead of Trends: Continuously research and explore new AI techniques, algorithms, and methodologies to keep One New Zealand at the forefront of the AI revolution.
Ensure Ethical AI Use: Adhere to AI governance frameworks, data privacy regulations, and security protocols to ensure responsible use of AI technologies.
Na tou rourou - what you'll bring Expertise in AI/ML: Strong knowledge and experience in developing AI/ML models, with a focus on solving business problems and enhancing processes.
Professional technical skills: Python, R, Snowflake SQL, DataBricks and other Cloud platforms, 2+ years working experience.
Innovative Mindset: A passion for exploring new technologies and methodologies, and the ability to lead experiments and PoC projects.
Collaborative Spirit: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Analytical Skills: Proficiency in analyzing complex datasets to extract insights, patterns, and trends that inform model development.
