We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laser Programmer Team Leader to lead our laser programmers and operators. This role is crucial in optimizing our laser cutting processes, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and high-quality output. This role is very much hands on. We require a high performing and experienced programmer with Trumpf Sheet and Tube laser experience.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor the programmers and operators, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Assign tasks, monitor progress, and provide guidance to ensure timely and accurate completion.
Identify training needs and develop training programs to enhance team skills and knowledge.
Having a solution focused communication with supervisor and other staff,
Reporting to team about under quoted and problematic jobs.
Programming and Design:
Create and edit complex laser cutting programmes using CAD/CAM software.
Troubleshoot programming issues and resolve errors to ensure smooth production.
Interpreting drawings and client specifications to organise and prepare Laser programs to meet customer requirements.
Preparing pre-production job instructions to ensure parts are manufactured to customer specifications.
Assisting in quoting and feasibility of the tube folding and press programming jobs, including feedback sessions.
Process Optimization:
Analyse current laser cutting and engraving processes to identify areas for improvement.
Manage workflows, in conjunction with our scheduling and production teams, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
Verifying manufacturing processes including inspection of work pieces throughout a production run,
Offering suggestions to improve manufacturability of designs.
Quality Control:
Maintain rigorous quality control standards for laser cutting operations.
Machine Maintenance:
Maintain maintenance schedules to ensure the optimal performance of laser machines.
Identify and report maintenance needs to prevent downtime and production disruptions.
Project Management:
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and allocating resources effectively.
Coordinate with other departments, such as engineering and production, to ensure seamless project execution.
Our ideal candidate has:
Experience with Trumpf laser equipment, Sheet and Tube.
Previous CNC Laser programming or operating experience.
The ability to interpret and work from sketches and drawings.
Proven experience with Trumpf Boost and Tube design, CAD/CAM software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Mastercam and the Microsoft product suite.
Proven experience as a Laser Programmer Team Leader or similar role.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
In-depth knowledge of laser cutting, materials, and processes.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
A strong work ethic, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Positive approach to continuous improvement.
