  About the Role (your why)      The role is based at our Auckland, Orbit Data Centre and involves a rotating shift pattern with night and day shift work.
The 24x7 Data Centre Technician performs a large number of remote hands and first level support tasks including installation of customer equipment, cables and cabling infrastructure.
We will train you to undertake scheduled and ad hoc tasks set out by the 24x7 Operations Manager and work alongside a team of site leads and operators to provide the highest standards in operational deliverables.
  What you'll do        Complete and contribute to the Data Centre training programme Support the Data Centre Team with Batch Services: Operating batch processes, monitoring alerts and escalating issues.
Provide first level support and hands and eyes services to our Data Centre customers Ensure health and safety requirements are adhered to.
Provide consistent and excellent management of data centre assets.
Delivery of customer facing activities and fostering customer relationships Installation and/or management of Data Centre infrastructure including power systems, IT and telecommunications equipment, cabling and server racks.
Ensure adherence to (and documentation of) existing and new standards relating to customer change Completion of all operational tasks assigned to you in a timely manner and communication of status.
Data Centre incident management Ensuring all Datacom security objectives are strictly adhered to.

  What you'll bring      Flexibility to work a rotating shift pattern (day and night shift).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Confidence to work alone and in a small team.
Able to trouble shoot customer and technical issues Able to remain calm under pressure Comfortable to work at heights (up to 4m) Able to complete repeatable processes in a timely and accurate manner Working knowledge of Microsoft application suite Previous IT experience is preferred but not required for this role.
