Data Analyst - HR at Transpower New Zealand Limited, Wellington Come join a busy Talent and Capability team supporting Aotearoa New Zealand's journey toward a zero-carbon future! Transpower owns and operates the National Grid, which is at the very heart of the New Zealand economy. We transport electricity from where it is generated to large electricity users and the distribution businesses that deliver it to homes and businesses nationwide.
About the team The Talent and Capability team at Transpower is responsible for enabling leaders and managers to be outstanding in their people management - getting the best out of their teams and creating a culture and environment that great people want to be part of.
The team presents a centre of excellence responsible for the design and delivery of organisation-wide programmes and initiatives that attract, retain, and develop a diverse and high-performing workforce, whilst delivering fit-for-purpose services to the organisation.
About the opportunity As HR Data Analyst, you will be passionate about turning data into meaningful insights that support our managers in making decisions about their teams. You will be a pivotal member of the HR Remuneration & Analytics function, providing accurate and timely HR data analysis, insights, and reporting in support of our People Strategy.
Working with a range of internal key customers and stakeholders, including Human Resource Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Organisational Development, Payroll, and Finance, you will also engage with HR software and remuneration insights providers. Reporting to our Remuneration & Analytics Specialist, your responsibilities will include analysis, insights, and reporting of quantitative HR data related to recruitment, remuneration, performance, workforce planning, and demographics.
With a continuous improvement framing, your work will extend to include compiling a range of cyclic reports, metrics, and insights, as well as the maintenance of organisation charts, and the accurate reporting on workforce insights that support our HR Business Partners. You will play an important role in maintaining critical employee information, updating key systems, and advising on data inaccuracies.
About you Operating with a common-sense approach and sound judgement, you will be analytical with a curious mindset, and have strong attention to detail, a can-do attitude, and willingness to learn. Adept at prioritisation and managing expectations, you will have excellent time management skills. Your CV and cover letter will demonstrate:
Tertiary degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field. 2+ years of experience in data analysis producing enterprise reporting and insights. Experience/understanding the importance of human resources data in organisation decision making. Customer focus, including how to present information in a way that is appropriate to the audience. Experience dealing with confidential information. Well-developed and effective verbal and written communication skills. Whilst not essential, experience with the following would be ideal: Application of data visualisation tools such as Power BI. Payroll systems, including running reports and extracting data.
