The Opportunity We have a Dairy Production Manager (2IC) role available at Bassets Dairy, this is a unique opportunity to work at an award-winning dairy farm with a high performing team and experience what makes Bassets a standout property.
This is an opportunity for an experienced 2IC or a confident DA/3IC looking to take the next step.
You will work with a Farm Manager who encourages everyone to bring their ideas to the table.
You will help manage the team daily with planning, pasture management, farm maintenance, milking, fencing, feeding out, and general stock work.
You will also relieve the Farm Manager when they are on leave.
As a team lead, you'll confidently delegate work and carry on your own work independently to keep the farm running effectively and efficiently.
The Farm Located 15km from Westport, Bassets is a 458-ha property, milking approximately 1060 cows through a modern 60 bail rotary with ACR's and MilkHub.
Currently operating on a 6 and 2 roster.

About You You'll be good at planning and will have a strong understanding of dairy operations.
With the support of the Farm Manager, you'll help identify areas where process improvements can be made.
For the right person, this could be your next step up, so while leadership experience is preferred, it's a nice-to-have.
