Tribe Technologies, a progressive kiwi-owned IT & Cybersecurity Consultancy firm, is searching for a Cybersecurity Engineer for our Christchurch CBD office. Our Cybersecurity Engineer is an important role within Tribe - it is core to making sure our customers are well secured and are always kept up to date on cyber risk. Whether it be working alongside your Tribe colleagues in the Security & Automation team or helping the wider team to achieve great security outcomes, the focus is always on creating that excellent customer experience, no matter what.Role Overview:There are some pretty important things that you need to do in this role, such as making safer business possible for our customers - these include effectively deploying our security managed services to enhance business security for our customers, promptly responding to security incidents and tickets, improving security awareness, education and support of others within Tribe and across our customers, and generally pitching in to help where-ever needed! You will actively monitor security tooling for customers to help detect and respond to security issues, you will stay up to date with the latest security vulnerabilities and trends, and live & breathe cyber security!Along with all this engaging and fulfilling work you will need to make sure that you are delivering positive commercial outcomes for our Tribe, based on key security support and security deliverables specific to our Security & Automation team.You will bring insights and ideas to the team and engage proactively in your own personal development with the knowledge that Tribe values and is committed to your personal growth and learning opportunities as part of our wider business plan.Core Role Responsibilities:Act as a contributing member of the Cybersecurity Team by sharing your knowledge & insights - Empower yourself and others to do our best work.Identify opportunities to simplify, automate and streamline operations, improve efficiency on service delivery. Keep automation front of mind 'do more with less'.Develop a really good understanding of all of Tribe's services and how these relate to customer needs. Identify and follow up opportunities where Tribe can continue to make smarter business possible for our customers!Build, maintain and police a schedule of security service checks (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly etc) that ensure all the ongoing central deliverables of our Cybersecurity Services are met.Maintain our security systems and tools, ensuring they are configured and operating as expected with appropriate security rules to ensure security outcomes are met, and are available for our Tribe and our customers to use.Work with the Cybersecurity Analyst to monitor security queues to keep our customers secure and have a timely response to any security incident.Contribute to the risk register for all customers, work with Tribe to ensure that customers security risks are understood and documented at least annually.Have a solid understanding of our Cybersecurity Toolsets. Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to assigned cybersecurity tool(s).Deploy our Cybersecurity Services to assigned customers, maintain a record of agents, identify unprotected machines and report back to the customer during the onboarding phase.Undertake after hours work as and when required as part of security incident response or Cybersecurity Service onboardings.Own security documentation for assigned customers, ensuring (with input from other members of the customer facing teams) that it is updated in every instance where there is a change in a customer's environment as per Tribe security, standards, and policy – a prime example being the maintenance and update of customer security risk registers.Be an advocate for security best practices and implement these in security handling and security governance for customers.Troubleshooting security and network problems. Responding to system and/or network security breaches and acting as an "incident responder" for our critical security incident response team.Work closely with the Technical Delivery and Customer Success teams ensuring we are offering a great customer experience every time – regardless of situation!Raise security awareness within our teams, helping to support our internal security training and awareness initiatives lead by Security Operations.Act as an escalation point for cybersecurity queries or questions, helping to educate and upskill others across the business - improving teamwide security awareness and capabilities.Skills, Education & Work Experience:Experience working with security and security operations, monitoring & tooling.Technical knowledge of security engineering, identity and access management, applied cryptography, & security and networking protocols.Strong verbal and written communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail and documentation.Understanding of security frameworks and standards.Understanding and awareness of Microsoft cloud platform components.Basic PowerShell and scripting knowledge.Ideal candidates will be able to provide lawful eligibility to live and work in New Zealand.About Tribe:Tribe is a progressive IT consultancy firm who understand business and put people first.
